Fundraising and Charity donations at Duke of Cornwall Lodge
Each year the Lodge hold an Annual Carol Service, at which we present donations to our chosen charities for the year. In 2025 we donated over £5,000 to Charity!
Cheques of £2,550 each were presented to to two fantastic local charities, The Oasis Centre-Cornwall and National Autistic Society - Redruth and District Young Adult Social Group (RADYAG).
🌟 Oasis Centre
The Oasis Centre provides welcoming Wellbeing Cafés and Family Hub sessions, offering safe, friendly spaces for people of all ages and families with young children to connect, relax, and access support within their community.
🌟 RADYAG
RADYAG supports autistic young adults by providing weekly social groups in a relaxed and inclusive environment, helping individuals build friendships, confidence, and access opportunities that may not otherwise be available.

This years chosen Charities

Each year, the Worshipful Master (like a President of an Organisation) of Duke of Cornwall Lodge chooses one or more charities for the Lodge to support during his term, running from December through the following November. Throughout the year, our fundraising efforts - from race nights and quiz evenings to coffee mornings and raffles - are directed toward these chosen causes. The year culminates with our annual cheque presentation at the Lodge’s carol service in December, after which the process begins again with the next Master’s chosen charity or charities.
Cornwall Air Ambulance
Cornwall Air Ambulance provides critical care to seriously ill and injured people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, responding to over 1,000 missions each year. Operating without direct government support for running costs, the service relies entirely on public generosity to keep its helicopters flying 365 days a year. Since taking to the skies in 1987 as the UK’s first air ambulance, the team has completed more than 32,000 missions, providing vital care across Cornwall’s isolated beaches, rural settlements, and challenging road networks. Supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance ensures that residents and visitors alike can access rapid, life-saving care when every second counts.
Mawgan Porth Surf Lifesaving Club
Mawgan Porth Surf Lifesaving Club promotes beach and water safety for the local community, providing weekly surf life-saving training sessions for children and adults alike. Recognised by Surf Life Saving GB, these sessions teach vital water safety skills, first aid, and rescue techniques, while fostering teamwork, confidence, and a sense of responsibility for others. The club also competes in local surf sports events, further developing skills and awareness. By supporting Mawgan Porth SLSC, we help ensure a safe environment for beachgoers, equip a new generation of skilled lifeguards, and strengthen community engagement along Cornwall’s cherished coastline.

How do we raise the money?
At Duke of Cornwall Lodge, supporting local charities is at the heart of everything we do. Each year, we run a full calendar of fundraising events, from charity race nights, quiz and bingo evenings, and ladies’ nights to our much-loved annual duck race. Alongside these, raffles, coffee mornings, and golf days help us continue our fundraising efforts throughout the year. These events raise vital funds for both local and national causes, including the Oasis Centre in St. Columb, the National Autistic Society (Redruth & District Adult Social Group), Alzheimer’s Society, Cornwall Air Ambulance, and Cornwall Hospice Care. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
We’re proud to open our doors not only to members of the Lodge but also to the wider community. Friends, family, and local supporters are always welcome to join in the fun, whether it’s cheering on a winning duck, testing their knowledge at a quiz, or enjoying a lively race night. Laughter, camaraderie, and a sense of shared purpose are guaranteed at every gathering, and these events are as much about enjoying each other’s company as they are about raising money for good causes.
To make it easy to join in, all our events are advertised through our Facebook page and in our monthly “What’s On Guide.” If you’d like to keep up to date with everything we’re planning, you can subscribe to our newsletter here. Whether you’re a member of the Lodge or part of the local community, there’s always an opportunity to get involved, have a laugh, and make a positive difference.
