In 1877, we purchased and converted a former chapel on Victoria Street into our permanent Masonic home. This beautiful and historically rich Temple still contains many original furnishings, including an ornate Master’s chair, a unique frieze depicting the 33 degrees of Freemasonry, and traditional wooden pillars - all maintained with care and reverence.

Our building has stood the test of time, but age has caught up with it. In 2023, we replaced the severely cracked lath and plaster ceiling, damaged by extreme heat, at a cost of £9,500. This followed an earlier boiler replacement in 2018, costing £8,260. These essential repairs have depleted our reserves - and now, we urgently need to replace the Temple roof to preserve the integrity of the building for the next generation. The total cost of the roof project is £35,000.

But this is more than just a building - it’s a fundraising hub. Not only does our Lodge give back, but Freemasons across the UK are among the largest charitable givers, donating millions each year. In 2024, Duke of Cornwall Lodge alone raised £5,000 for Cornwall Hospice Care, and we donated over £5,000 to two fantastic local charities, The Oasis Centre-Cornwall and National Autistic Society - Redruth and District Young Adult Social Group (RADYAG).
